Privacy Policy.

WineTutorial publishes practical wine guides. Today we have no user accounts, no login, and no checkout, so the information we handle is limited to what your browser sends when you visit a page. This policy describes what we collect, what we don't, and how that will be handled as the site grows.

Last updated: 17 June 2026.

What we don't collect

WineTutorial has no user accounts, no login, and no comment system at this time. We don't ask for your email, your address, your age, or any other personal information to read a guide. We do not run third-party advertising networks on the editorial pages. If we add accounts, checkout, or other features that collect personal information in the future, this policy will be updated before those features go live and the changes will be summarised at the top of the page.

What our web server logs

Like any website, our hosting infrastructure records standard request information when you visit a page: the URL you requested, the date and time, your IP address, the HTTP referrer (if your browser sent one), and the user-agent string your browser identifies itself with. These logs are used to operate the site, diagnose errors, and protect against abuse. They are retained for a limited operational window and are not sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Cookies

WineTutorial does not set its own tracking cookies. The site is statically generated HTML and does not require cookies to function. Our analytics provider (described below) may set first-party cookies on this domain so it can recognise returning visits and compute basic engagement metrics. These cookies are not used by us for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Analytics

WineTutorial uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides people read and how the site performs. GA4 collects aggregated, pseudonymous usage information (page views, approximate session duration, broad geography, device and browser type). IP addresses are not stored in their full form by GA4 and are not used by us to identify individual visitors. We do not link analytics data to advertising profiles, and we do not run any third-party advertising or behavioural-targeting scripts on the site.

You can opt out of being measured by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by enabling your browser's tracking-prevention or content-blocking features, or by using a privacy-focused browser extension.

External links

WineTutorial links to EncyclopediaOfWine.com as a reference site, and may link to other external sites in the body of a guide. Once you follow an external link you are on that site's terms and privacy policy, not ours.

Children's privacy

WineTutorial publishes content about an alcoholic beverage and is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

You can browse WineTutorial without sharing personal information. You can block cookies in your browser without breaking the site. You can opt out of analytics by using a browser-level Do Not Track setting or a privacy-focused browser extension.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will revise the Last updated date above. Material changes will be summarized at the top of this page for a reasonable period after they take effect.
